The break of human rights in Melilla

29 June, 2023
in CNT
1

The June 24th of 2023 was the one year anniversary of the slaughter of Melilla. One year later of the worst attack against the human rights realize it from the Spanish government and the Moroccan Kingdom in the last times: with 37 people died and killed in outcourt murder; 77 victims of disappearance; hundreds of people tortured, deprived of help and goal of other inhuman acts.

Most of them were refugees from Sudan, a lot of them underage that were expelled illegally and those right to demand asylum were denied. The slaughter produced in the “Barrio Chino” fence was called as “the worst of the last times” by the Moroccan Association for Human Rights, the antiracist movement, pro-human rights organizations in our country, international organizations and rapporteurs of the United Nations . Nevertheless, the Spanish government continues showing its non-responsibility on this fact, denying the duty of diligence, denying the investigations about the case, not exposing the guilty neither reparing the situation.

In all this disaster, there is one main character, the Minister of Home affairs Mr. Grande Marlaska, who doesn’t accept any responsibility about the case and continues his defense of the Spanish and Moroccan police forces involved in the slaughter. The events of Melilla are an example of the institutional racism impunity developed by the states.

For all these reasons, CNT encourages everybody to be part of the different marches and concentrations scheduled in different cities to claim for justice and the end of institutional violence impunity in the South Boundier.

Justice for the victims of the slaughter of Melilla!
