Mahmoud Homsi of the FAU takes over as the new ICL Secretary after Miguel Perez of the CNT successfully completes his two-year term.

At the inaugural ICL Congress in Parma in 2018, the sections agreed that the ICL Secretary should hold office for two years at which point it would rotate to another member section. The FAU was already chosen to be next in line in the rotation at the Parma congress.

The new ICL Secretary Mahmoud Homsi is a member of the FAU Berlin. He has been active in the FAU’s international work for years and was involved in the preparation of the new international. “I plan to continue implementing the ICL’s work areas over the next two years, to further cultivate international relations inside and outside the ICL, and of course to support our sections and their members in their labour struggles,” says Homsi.

Over the last two years, Miguel Perez got the ICL up and running as its first secretary. Highlights include co-sponsoring a conference of textile workers, forming America and Asia working groups, and establishing the ICL’s web presence. He will continue on as the CNT’s representative in the ICL Liaison Committee, the ICL’s highest body except for the Congress.
